???Marketing..... Baffled!

As promised its me again... since releasing the album it has occured to me that I may have a knack for singing and song writing even acting like an idiot every Thursday and Sunday but I have not got the faintest idea how to market myself! it doesn't help that I'm a bit of a recluse off stage either. Some people make it look so easy but I seriously want to cry... it's excrutiating mind boggling!

Here is my train of thought on the matter:

Write the song... time consuming but pretty easy
Record the song.... Frustating but fun
Mix & Master the song.... EASY I just watch ;-p
Release the song.... easy peasy
Sit back and watch the money roll in... Errrrrm about that..... ;-(

It occured to me that if the not many people know of the ever delightful Alize Levy, then how the hell will they know to buy my music! That's when my headache and depression started!!! Social networks dont seem to be working much, reverse psychology worked for a second lol. What am I not doing? At this rate I should have called my album "Not Famous & Broke" LMAO... I can see you, Dont laugh its not funny!

Marketing with limited resources is difficult! Social Media is the craze - but it does not always work. You need to have more exposure where people congregate (apart from the internet) - use your posters (or have some A3 ones made up) with information about you and where people can listen to your music. Find places to put them up - preferably for free - or at Newsagents, Hairdressers, banks etc any shop you can find in the neighbourhood - ask if they want to help/support a local girl. Take it to the streets - maybe a small A4 leaflet with a code so they can buy your album at a reduced rate before 10pm the same evening etc. etc. Try and make a local buzz. Once you have tried this in your local area, move to the next - or let friends and family help you in their local area. I will do it in my area. You can also hire some scouts to make a leaflet doot drop in your neighburhood, doesnt cost much. After that it requires money to take it to the next level - like posters at bus stops, posters in underground etc. Happy to help with advice...
